Investing in a great grill will pay off in the long run. The Weber Spirit E-310 Gas Grill is the flagship grill in the entry level Spirit Series. This makes it perfect for a family's first entry into the Weber universe. In the rankings, the Spirit sits right below the Genesis in price.
While you shouldn't be swayed by price too much when looking at grills, it's important to know what you get for the price. A more expensive grill such as the Genesis or Summit will give you more features and larger cooking surface. If all your'e going to be doing is cooking the occasional burger or hot dog, the Spirit is perfect.
This grill has three separately controlled burners, an enclosed stainless steel container for the propane tank with durable doors, and two plastic work tables. On one of the surfaces there is a place to hold your spatula and tongs. It also has a condiment tray basket and built-in thermometer. The Spirit cooks very evenly with Weber's very reliable ignition system at the push of a button.
With cheaper grills, the ignition system is often the first thing to go, which causes more hassle and dangerous lighting of the grill. The Weber crossover ignition system will last for years and usually work on the first try. This is definitely one of the major advantages of going with Weber for gas grills.
Though it is a starter, this is a 3-burner grill, which can take up some space. If you're planning on putting it on a porch in an apartment, I might go for something smaller. However, if it's out on a lawn or larger porch or deck, it will have plenty of space.
Just remember, the grill will last longest if you use it often and keep a cover on when you're not using it. Rust is one of the biggest killers of grills left outside, and the more you use it the less it will rust!
